Reference Services
The primary reference service offered in the media center is assistance by a librarian with searches conducted in the library by the student. However, a few other services are offered. Phone reference is available for students on homebound instruction, as well as by electronic mail. Material, when possible, can also be posted to the library website for perusal by homebound students. Searches can be conducted for students who for some reason are unable to come to the media center, and searches are also conducted on occasion for alumni, although such activity is necessarily given a lower priority than the activities that directly relate to current students. Searches are happily conducted for teachers, and bibliographies on given themes or topics can be ordered from the librarians. (Two weeks notice is requested for such bibliography creation.) Finally, instruction in electronic searching, both on the Internet and CD - ROM products is available. For phone reference call 543-8606.
