Online Search by Lexile Level

To locate books on a particular lexile level or within a range of lexile levels, employ the following procedure.

Navigate to http://bchslibrary.org/library .  (There is a link in the right-hand column of the school website.)  Click on the icon for “Search our Catalog Online” and then choose “Bullitt Central” from the list on the page that pops up.  On the catalog search screen that comes up, open the dropdown box for “Search Reading Programs” and choose “Lexile.”  Additional search boxes will then appear.

Fill the boxes with the lexile range you wish to search, e.g. 500 to 600.  Leave the code on “Any Code.”

Press enter or click on “Keyword” or “Title.”  The records returned will indicate the lexile level of each book in the search.

To find out the lexile level of an individual book, simply fill in the title of the book on the opening search page.  Leave the default search parameters (Look in : Bullitt Central, Search Reading Programs : Unlimited.)  Type the title in the search box and either press “enter” or click on “title” or “keyword.”

The results will indicate the lexile level of the title (or titles, if you click on “keyword.”)  Keep in mind that not every record for every book in our catalog has the lexile level included, but the vast majority do.
